How do I receive a price quote for a cabin?

From our "rates & reservations" page select one of three options: Great Bear, Little Bear or Private Rental (Private rental must be selected during the Summer). Enter your arrival and departure dates. Select the "book now" button. The price will show up under the check in and check out dates. You can see the individual price breakdowns for fees and click "continue" if you would like to book.

How do I book a cabin?

Follow the steps above. After clicking "continue," fill out the reservation request

form with your information. You will then be directed to a payment page, once payment is complete and the rental agreement has been agreed to, your reservation will be secured!

What is your minimum stay requirement?

We have a 3 night minimum. (one week minimum in the Summer months)

If a rental is taken for less than 3 nights, the guest will be charged the 3 night rate. Summer minimum stays are usually 7 nights and are generally required during high season, holiday periods, etc.

Is the cleaning service included in the price?

The cleaning service is a required one time fee additional to that of the nightly rate. It covers the cost of cleaning when you leave. You can see the price breakdown of all fees on the reservation page of our website. You may pay for additional cleanings if you like.

Is the tax included in the price?

4.5% Star Lake Room Tax is a required fee Per the Township along with state tax - additional to that of the nightly rate. You can see the price breakdown of all fees on the reservation page of our website.

Do you accept pets?

We do not accept pets due to our guests with allergies. 

What is the refundable damage deposit?

An "authorization" is placed for the amount of the security deposit 7 days prior to check-in. An authorization essentially "freezes" the amount of the security deposit on your credit card and is not deducted unless there are damages or evidence of smoking in a cabin. Guests will be responsible for paying any damages caused directly or indirectly by themselves or their guests during their stay.

When do I receive check-in information?

You will receive check-in information by email about 2 weeks prior to your arrival date. In the check-in information, we will include address and driving directions, a code to the keypads on our doors, and other helpful information.

What is the payment schedule?

Just like the airlines we require a 100% of the total payment upfront in order to secure your reservation.

When do I receive confirmation of my booking?

Confirmations are sent to you by email automatically when a reservation is made. YOUR RESERVATION IS NOT COMPLETELY CONFIRMED UNTIL 100% OF THE TOTAL PAYMENT IS MADE AND YOU HAVE AGREED TO THE RENTAL AGREEMENT. If you are staying with us for many months we will work out payments on a month-by-month basis.

What is provided in the Cabins?

Each cabin is completely stocked including all cookware, linens, and towels. We also provide complimentary DirectTV with premium subscription, gas grills at each cabin and firewood. Other replenish-able items stocked include, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner, and area maps.

Do you provide boat rentals?

We provide free use of our canoe, kayak and row boat. We do not provide life jackets which is required if using these items.  We can provide you with a list of motor boat rental companies within the area.  

Where do I pick up the keys for the cabin(s)?

You will receive check in information emailed to you 2 weeks prior to arrival with your unique keypad door code.

What is your cancellation policy?

A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made less than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur fees outlined below.

Cancellation Notice on Rentals:

60 days prior to the date of arrival: 100% refund of total reservation (minus $200 processing fee)

30 days prior to the date of arrival: 50% refund of total reservation*

Less than 30 days prior to the date of arrival: 0% refund of total reservation*

*Unless the cabin(s) can be re-rented at the same rental fee, 100% refund minus a $200 processing fee. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.

How do I cancel my reservation?

To cancel your reservation you must contact Star Lake Properties as soon as possible.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in time is 4:00pm and Check-out time is 10:00 am CST. If you arrive early, you may deposit your bags at the rented cabin(s) while being cleaned. Low season rentals are noon-noon.

What are the maximum occupancy rules?

Maximum occupancy is clearly stated under each cabins description. The maximum occupancy will also be clearly stated in the rental agreement. If the maximum allowable occupancy is breached, your credit card on file may be charged a penalty, and there may be cause for immediate eviction.

What is the parking situation?

Little Bear has room for three vehicles. Great Bear has room for two vehicles. We have excess vehicle or trailer parking at the end of our gravel driveway.
